Some Bournemouth fans have been reacting on social media to recent reports which claim that Jordon Ibe is prepared to take a pay cut in order to leave the Cherries and join Celtic in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The reports suggesting that Ibe is prepared to take “a pay cut to join Celtic” recently surfaced on Football Insider, who have stated that the 24-year-old attacker will seek to “revive a career that has gone downhill this season” in the next summer transfer window.

Since joining Bournemouth in July 2016 for a transfer fee of £16.2m, Ibe has made a total of 92 appearances for the Cherries in all competitions. However, Ibe has made just four appearances for Bournemouth in all competitions this season. Furthermore, the 24-year-old attacker has also not featured in a Premier League game for Bournemouth since the 31st of August

Bournemouth-focused Twitter account @TheCherries_com recently posted a tweet sharing the alleged news that Ibe will “take a pay cut” to leave the Cherries for Celtic this summer, which has attracted the attention of some Bournemouth fans. Ibe’s current Bournemouth contract is set to expire on the 30th of June 2020, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk. Considering his lack of first-team football for Bournemouth this season, it may be understandable why the 24-year-old attacker, who is currently valued at £5.4m according to Transfermarkt.co.uk, may be willing to take a pay cut in order to join the reigning Scottish champions, whose manager, Neil Lennon, is reported to be “a big admirer” of Ibe, according to Football Insider.
