Aston Villa fans have been responding on Twitter to the latest post from defender Tyrone Mings.
This comes after the Englishman shared a post on his official Twitter page claiming that his side “gave everything” in their 2-1 defeat to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.
Mings then added a thank you message to the travelling Villa fans that saw their team defeated on the day.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who were eager to share their own messages for the centre-half.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans responding to Mings’ post:
We gave everything but it wasn’t to be. Thank you for your support today ? pic.twitter.com/T2pBcv4ozU

Some weeks the performances aren’t good enough, this wasn’t one of them. Couldn’t ask for any more from you or the team.
We’re all behind you.

The 26-year-old earned himself a match rating of 7.1 for his performance in the final, the joint second-highest of any Villa player on the pitch (per WhoScored). After the match, Mings’ post revealing his disappointment in the result quickly gathered replies from a lot of Villa fans who were very pleased with what they saw from the team in terms of effort and spirit.
Keep heads held high, that’s all we asked for fight and passion ?

Not the result we wanted BUT you can all be proud of that performance. Showed fight and spirit against a top team. We just need to fight like that in the league and we’ll be fine! Well done to you all, I’m proud to be a Villan ??

What do we think?
It’s great to see so many Villa fans taking the positives out of the game instead of being down about the result. As some fans mentioned in the replies to Mings’ post, if the team can fight in their remaining Premier League games as they did in Sunday’s cup final, then they should have a strong chance at avoiding relegation this season.
