Phil Hay believes that a deal for Leeds to permanently sign Jack Harrison ‘should be done because Leeds have an £8m option on him.

Speaking in his live Q & A on the 20th of March, The Athletic reporter confirmed that he expects the 23-year-old to be signed.

A fan stated to Hay:

“My main dream signings would be Ben White and Jack Harrison. Get those two in on permanent deals and I think we’ll do alright.”

He replied:

“Harrison should be done because Leeds have an £8m option on him. I’d obviously like to see them keep White too but that is going to need some major negotiation. As I’ve said many times, Liverpool have had a close eye on him.”

At what date do the EFL intend to resume matches after temporarily suspending games due to the viral outbreak?

Hay also provided an update on the future of Ben White, but he sounded less optimistic about that one.

He said, ‘I’d obviously like to see them keep White too, but that is going to need some major negotiation.’

Hay also reaffirmed his belief that Liverpool have a ‘close eye’ on the 22-year-old.

What do we think?

Harrison has had a fantastic season for the Whites so far.

He has played in every league game this season and has scored five goals and provided seven assists.

This is one more goal than he managed in the entire of last season and also three more assists.

The scary thing is he could have had more goals considering he has hit the woodwork five times this season. (According to LUFCDATA)

The fact that the man on loan from Manchester City has played every league game, to us, is a big sign that he has the full trust and support of Marcelo Bielsa.

For just £8m, we really don’t see how Leeds could be going wrong – especially if he keeps up his current form that has seen him earn ratings of 8.97, 7.99, and 7.02 in his last three matches.

It seems like any deal for White will be more tricky, but we think that Leeds fans should focus on this positive Harrison update for now and worry about White another time.
