Last weekend, Sunderland managed to sneak a win against Ipswich Town after Chris Maguire secured victory in the 81st minute. But the match’s result could have been much different if not for a vital tackle made by Tom Flanagan to stop Ipswich’s Kayden Jackson from having a free shot at Jon McLaughlin’s goal.
After the match, the club posted footage of Flanagan’s crucial moment, which fans instantly praised. They think he had an all-round great game and agree that this was a crucial moment in the match. One fan calls for contract talks to be held.
Thought the lad had a great game yesterday, I think we look more balanced with Flanagan and Wills either side of the central defender.

What do we think?
The moment was a big one, but Flanagan will have to continue performing at a high level if he wants to help Sunderland achieve promotion. It will take a great effort if they want to continue their recent momentum, though if they do, they will surely be one of the favourites to make the play-offs. Just look at their recent form if you don’t believe us.
