Some Sheffield Wednesday fans have made it clear that they want to see Fernando Forestieri leave the club as soon as possible.
Dom Howson from the Sheffield Star wrote an article about Forestieri recently, which raised questions over the forward’s future.
Should Forestieri leave the club?
Yes, his time is up
He can do a job for us
When the article was posted on Twitter, it got many Owls fans talking. They feel the player’s time at Hillsborough is already up and he has to leave.
He needs moving on. Just like most of the dead wood at Hillsborough……..

Forestieri joined Wednesday in the summer of 2015 from Watford for an undisclosed fee. Since joining the club, the Italian has made a total of 127 appearances in all competitions and has scored 39 goals, picking up 17 assists.
This season, the 30-year-old has made only 12 appearances in all competitions for the club. 11 have come in the Championship, where he has scored once and has one assist to his name.
What do we think?
Forestieri, who is valued at £1.35 million (as per Transfermarkt), sustained an injury towards the end of 2019 and his number of appearances have decreased since the 2017/18 season, when he suffered a long-term knee injury. For a player who is 30 and isn’t as fit as he used to be, the Owls may have to let him go. His current deal runs out in the summer of 2020 and keeping him on the wage bill won’t help them much.
