Last week, Rangers secured the signing of Ianis Hagi on loan from Genk until the end of the season. The midfielder comes with high expectations, living in the footsteps of his famous father, Gheorghe Hagi. Hagi Jr. made his debut for the Gers on Saturday when Steven Gerrard’s side dropped points to Aberdeen in the league.
Saturday’s draw at Ibrox leaves the Gers seven points adrift of the Premiership summit (Sky Sports).
When Hagi Jr. tweeted out to fans at the end of the match, he claimed that the side needed to improve. He thanked fans for such a warm reception and vowed that the team needed to keep working ahead of their midweek clash against Hibernian. Many supporters didn’t think he was at fault during the draw, however. In fact, they think he was one of the best players on the day.
Well done Hagi ?? hopefully you start on Wednesday. You don’t deserve any criticism you did nothing wrong.

Our support can be harsh at times but only because we want the best for our great club. You perform when you pull that famous shirt on and give your best, your all, to deliver success then we will worship you for the rest of your life. All the best and welcome.

Well done yesterday man. You were one of the only two positives to come out of that game. (The other was McGregor)
Keep doing what you’re doing, and I really hope Gerrard starts you on Wednesday as you could bring that creative spark to the team.

Were you impressed by Ianis Hagi on his debut?
Yes
No
They appreciate his eagerness to get the ball forward, something their current midfield players fail to do. They think he must start on Wednesday.
Thanks for trying to pass forward. Will not be forgotten

Mad how you played more forward passes in 10 minutes than the rest of our midfield in 90 minutes
— Ben Cameron (@bencam72) February 1, 2020
Well done Hagi you’ve made more foward passes then our full midfield has In 3 matches

Only player who constantly had your head up wanting to play forward, have to start Wednesday

What do we think?
Hopefully Hagi can play a huge role in Gerrard’s side going forward. If he can help Rangers overcome the odds and beat Neil Lennon’s Celtic for the league title then he may quickly become a cult hero for the Gers.
