Fans of QPR have been reacting to a post on Twitter discussing whether the club should attempt to sign West Ham’s Jordan Hugill on a permanent deal this summer.
Hugill, who is currently valued at £5.4million (as per Transfermarkt), has impressed for QPR so far this season, with the striker scoring 13 goals in 31 games for the Hoops.
However, with QPR losing Nahki Wells to Bristol City in January following a loan spell, Hugill is now the only out-and-out striker Mark Warburton has at his disposal.
As such, fans have been discussing on Twitter whether or not QPR should make a permanent move for Hugill, with some suggesting that they will not be able to afford his wages, while others believe there are better options out there.

For the right price, yes as he’s a decent striker at Championship level. I suspect however that he’ll prove to be too expensive if West Ham want to get back anything near what they paid for him (£8-10m?).

Yes but won’t be able to afford him

Would love it but we wouldn’t afford his wages and West Ham would probably want about 5m at least

Yes, but wouldn’t able to afford his wages

I’d love to. But can’t afford him. He’s getting on a bit though so he may be persuaded to drop a division permanently

Yes but see if there’s other option first

What do we think?
The Championship appears to be Hugill’s level, with the striker netting 23 goals for Preston North End in 100 appearances, six for Middlesbrough in 37, and 13 in 31 so far for QPR.
If the Hoops can convince West Ham to sell him for considerably lower than the £9.18 million they purchased him for, then the 27-year-old could prove a valuable attacking option for Warburton’s side.
