Fans of Nottingham Forest have been reacting to a post on Twitter that reveals the news that Matty Cash is once again in the WhoScored Championship Team of the Week.
Cash, who is an academy product of Nottingham Forest, has been in exceptional form for the Reds this season, with the right-back scoring three goals and providing four assists in his 32 Championship starts for the club.
The 22-year-old’s average WhoScored rating of 7.28 not only ranks him as Forest’s best performer of the season, but also as the 12th-best in the entirety of the Championship (of players with a minimum of 17 appearances).
Once again, the £5.4 million-rated Cash was pivotal in Nottingham Forest’s victory away at Cardiff on Tuesday evening, making five tackles, two interceptions and three clearances, as well as two key passes, two successful offensive dribbles and having two shots at goal.
His performance earned him a remarkable 8.49 WhoScored match rating that evening, leading to his inclusion in the website’s Championship Team of the Week.
In reaction to the news, fans of Nottingham Forest flocked to Twitter, with many praising the consistency of their right-back, while others simply shared their gratitude for the 22-year-old’s performances.

Has to be in with a shout of player of the season for the league. Regardless of what happens with promotion, I dont think we have a hope in hell of keeping him. Some of the big boys will 100% be sniffing

What do we think?
Matty Cash has been one of the stories of the season, playing a pivotal part in Nottingham Forest’s promotion push.
However, should Forest fail to achieve promotion to the Premier League, based on just how consistently impressive Cash has been this season, it would be difficult to imagine an outcome other than the 22-year-old moving to greener pastures in the summer.
