Forest fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which calls for support for the City Ground’s redevelopment.
The statement, posted by Forza Garibaldi on Twitter, read:
“The stadium redevelopment is at a critical juncture in the planning permission stage, especially considering there have been a number of objections. We encourage you to show your personal support for the scheme via the following link.”
Forest fans have reacted angrily to the news that there are objections to the City Ground’s redevelopment, with some even worrying that Derby County fans, Forest’s rivals, are responsible for the negative responses to the scheme.

Bit worrying the amount of people objecting, probably County and Derby fans seeing an opportunity. Anyway have supported

Wow – Reading some of the objections….just wow.

Have submitted a supporting vote ?
Can’t believe people are objecting it. Probably Derby fans— Chris Geoghegan ???? (@Kyamtoby) February 18, 2020
Can’t believe some of the stuff I’m reading. Residents rejecting due to crowd noise, too much traffic & parking issues. They CHOSE to move next to football ground that’s been there 100 years, what did they expect? Ignore all the positives as Barbara at no43 thinks its too noisey!

Supported. Really hope this gets through. Surely benefits outweigh negatives.

Looking at some of the objections there’s some from derby. Think that tells you all you need to know about how flawed this process is. No doubt a few green eyed notts fans too

What do we think?
The redevelopment of football grounds is usually something that serves its surrounding environment well. Football traffic increases sales in local shops, bars and restaurants, while attracting new business to, and increasing house prices within the local community.
However, there are always concerns with non-football-going local residents, who every other week, have to suffer from noise pollution and a lack of parking, for instance.
Having said this, many of those local residents will have moved in with full knowledge of the football ground’s close proximity to their home, so the question to be asked is: if you really don’t like it, why did you move there in the first place? That seems to be where some of the Forest fans’ grievances stem from.
