Fans of Nottingham Forest have been reacting to a post by City Ground HQ on Twitter, which reports on comments made by Steve Hodge, who insists that Forest’s home form is a ‘problem’ in their bid for promotion.
Forest, who currently occupy fourth place in the Championship table, have been performing above pre-season expectations so far this season, with the Reds just six points behind second-placed Leeds with 11 games remaining.
Sabri Lamouchi’s side have produced some fantastic results throughout their campaign, including a 2-0 victory over Leeds, a dramatic 2-2 draw with table-toppers West Brom and, most recently, becoming only the second team this season to defeat Cardiff at their own stadium.
However, in comparison to these results, Forest have also dropped points to sides much lower than them in the table, such as a 2-1 loss to Hull City, a 4-0 loss to Sheffield Wednesday and a 1-0 loss to Charlton, all of which were at the City Ground.
As a result of Forest’s home form, Steve Hodge has suggested that it could be a problem in the side’s bid for promotion, something which fans have been discussing on Twitter.

He Doesn’t need to insist. We all know it!

I think we can all see that. The points we’ve dropped at home would have seen us comfortably in the top 2.

I think so in addition to our ability to punish teams consistently below us.

Not necessarily if we do what we’ve done this week. 4 pts with 3 away. 2 points per game average would give us around 82 points, and decent chance if Leeds falter…. #NFFC

What do we think?
Forest’s home form will be somewhat of a concern for Sabri Lamouchi, as the Reds currently sit 12th in the Championship’s ‘home’ table, with eight wins, four draws and five losses from their 17 games at the City Ground.
However, in comparison, Forest are third in the ‘away’ Championship table, with eight wins, seven draws and just three losses when playing on the road.
If Lamouchi can figure out how to get his side firing on all cylinders in front of their own fans, while also maintaining their impressive form away from home, then Forest could yet make a late charge on the automatic promotion places.
