Some Celtic fans have been hailing Leigh Griffiths after he went past the goalscoring tally of club legend John Hartson recently.
The Scottish striker recently scored a goal for the club in their Premiership win over Motherwell, helping the side to a convincing 4-0 win away from home. Recently, the club’s social media account posted an update stating that Griffiths has now gone past Hartson’s goalscoring tally and now has 111 goals to his name.
Is Griffiths a bigger legend that Hartson?

This is an incredible feat considering players today aren’t usually at a club long enough to reach that amount of goals. Super Leigh Griffiths will go down in history as a great

John Hartson was at Celtic from 2001 to 2006 after joining the club from Coventry. He later left the club to join West Bromwich Albion.
As for Griffiths, he arrived at the club in the winter of 2014 from Wolves for a fee of £1 million. So far this season, the striker has made 24 appearances in all competitions for the club and has a tally of seven goals for Hoops.
Since arriving at Parkhead, Griffiths, who is valued at £1.8 million (as per Transfermarkt), has become one of the club’s chief goalscorers, with his 111 goals arriving in 227 appearances.
What do we think?
Griffiths’ impact at the club can’t be underestimated. While he has been a controversial figure over the years, his goals show that he has become a consistent goalscorer for the side, which no one can take away from him.
