Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to share their criticism for Kristoffer Ajer for his performance in their midweek win over Motherwell.
This comes after the Scottish Premiership leaders secured a 4-0 win at Fir Park on Wednesday evening.
Despite winning the match and keeping a clean sheet away from home, Ajer’s display in the victory caught the attention of numerous Celtic fans for all the wrong reasons.
Was Ajer Celtic's worst player against Motherwell?
Yes
No
Here’s a sample of Celtic fans slamming Ajer’s performance on Twitter:
Our defence is on an utter madness here. Delighted to be leading at half time but Ajer, Jullien and Jozo are giving the Chuckle Brothers a run for their money here. Terrifying at times! #Celtic #COYBIG

Ajer having a total nightmare. How he is a regular centre half for Celtic is beyond me. Shouldn’t have played much more after his shambles v AEK at home last season

Ajer is all over the shop.

Ajer has made 40 appearances for the club in all competitions so far this season. The 21-year-old, who was signed by Ronny Deila back in 2016, played the full 90 minutes in the 4-0 thrashing of Motherwell, only to be given a match rating of 6/10 per Celtic fan website 67HailHail. This performance also led to many Celtic fans tweeting out their own opinions on Ajer’s poor display in the match.
Ajer has been so poor recently

Rotten

I’ve got to agree to a certain extent. Forrest has been rotten but still capable. Ntcham is stealing wage whilst Ajer wouldn’t get a game for my boys team. He’s absolutely dreadful.

Ntcham

Get them out, should have been replaced in the transfer window, not good enough to play for Celtic.— Liam Boyle (@LiamBoyle_1888) February 5, 2020
Ajer the worst, Jullien giving away some nightly stuff

What do we think?
It’s never nice to see a player get so much criticism from their own fans on social media. The best thing for Ajer and Celtic now would be to use this match as a learning curve so he can improve his game throughout the rest of the season.
