Supporters of Wolverhampton Wanderers have reacted to a 7-0 mauling for the Under-18s against Chelsea in the FA Youth Cup.
On Monday night, the club posted the full-time score on their academy’s Twitter account (as per Wolves), which led some fans to be astounded by the hammering.
A difficult night as our #FAYouthCup journey comes to an end at the hands of a strong @Chelsea outfit. ?#CHEWOL pic.twitter.com/UtslRGZoTs

These players are mentally weak. As soon as we go a goal or two down their heads drop and they just give up.

Do you take a keen interest in youth team football or only the first team?Yes, I like to keep an eye on all of our teamsNo, I'm only bothered about the first team |
However, while some fans were astounded, others felt a little more tongue in cheek after the youth team’s defeat against the London club.
Unlucky. Close game tbf.

Gutted, thought we’d nick a draw at the end

The defeat sees the Old Gold’s youngsters drop out of the competition in the fifth round (via football.london) and while some supporters were a little more downbeat, others attempted to remain positive for the youngsters.
Get up dust yourselves down and start again. So you lost, next time be better stronger and fitter

What do we think?
To lose 7-0 at any age level in professional football will always come as a shock to supporters an illicit the same response as it has done from Wolves fans.
Hopefully, for the Old Gold’s Under-18s, they will be able to dust themselves off after the tough outing against the Blues and make amends against Sunderland next time out (per Wolves).
