Fans of Wolverhampton Wanderers have fumed over news on Europa League tickets for the Espanyol clash which was relayed by Tim Spiers.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Athletic reporter shared a tweet which stated that the La Liga side ‘aren’t budging on their allocation of around 2,000 away tickets’ for the round of 32 tie (per Tim Spiers), which had fans furious.

How many tickets do you think Wolves could realistically sell out for the Espanyol away leg?

After finishing runners up in Group K (via UEFA), the Old Gold will travel to Spain for the second leg of their round of 32 tie with that La Liga side on 27th February (per BBC).

With Spiers’ update coming as a disappointment to many who were hoping to get tickets for the clash, they continued to share their fury that the Spanish side was not willing to accommodate them.

What do we think?

With the Old Gold last featuring in European Football in the UEFA Cup in the 1980/81 season, where they were beaten in Round One by PSV Eindhoven (via Football Site), the excitement surrounding the clash is understandable.

However, turning up without a ticket is never advisable and the Spanish side not increasing the allocation is not an excuse to cause trouble. Sadly, if you do not get a ticket it is just hard luck.
