This week, West Ham United shared how Jarrod Bowen felt about joining the Hammers. The player explained that he was thrilled to be joining the club, and thanked them for giving him a chance. It is a big step up for Bowen to be playing in the Premier League, rather than in the Championship with Hull City.
“I feel like I’m ready. I’ve got to step up again, but I believe in myself, so I’ve just got to repay the faith of West Ham for bringing me in here, on the pitch,” said Bowen.
Having scored 16 goals and recorded six assists in 29 Championship appearances this season for Hull, Bowen comes with a good reputation. His £19.17 million transfer does add a lot of pressure, however, meaning the lad has a lot to live up to.
When the club posted his quote, some West Ham fans wished him luck. They are excited to see him get started.
Looking forward to seeing you in action! #COYI!!

Can Jarrod Bowen help West Ham avoid the drop?
Yes
No
Others are more cynical, however. They reckon Bowen must only step up his game for a short period of time, as they fully expect the club to be sitting in a relegation spot come the end of the season.
At least when we go down we have a clinical championship goal scorer tbf let’s hope he can hit the ground running in the prem or we’re down

Don’t worry bud, you’ve only got to step up until the end of the season, next year you’ll be in familiar territory!

What do we think?
West Ham are certainly at risk of facing relegation this year. They currently sit one point behind 17th-placed Aston Villa. Hopefully, Bowen’s can have an impact at the club that can help David Moyes’ side escape the drop this season.
