A BBC Sport report has claimed that Leeds United are set to receive a double boost for their match with Nottingham Forest.

It suggests that Gaetano Berardi could be available for the trip to the City Ground, and perhaps more importantly, Jean-Kevin Augustin could be ready to play after his appearance for the Under-23s earlier in the week. Although, he did feature against Derby U23’s last night, so it remains to be seen.

Will Augustin make his debut for Leeds against Forest?

Marcelo Bielsa talked at great length about the Frenchman earlier this week, but did not actually say if the 22-year-old would be ready to feature; however, the BBC seems to think that Augustin might be able to play against Forest.

What do we think?

The Whites’ clash at the City Ground could be a huge game in the race for automatic promotion. Forest are currently four points behind Leeds, and if they beat Marcelo Bielsa’s men, the gap between the Whites and the chasing pack could be dramatically cut. Therefore, having Augustin and Berardi back available could be a big boost for Bielsa.

Patrick Bamford is the Whites’ top scorer with 12, but Leeds’ next-top scorer is Jack Harrison with five, and he hasn’t scored since the 29th of December, so the arrival of Augustin could provide the support that Bamford needs.

Bielsa though, was adamant that the 22-year-old is not yet able to start a game for Leeds, but to have him as an option off the bench could still prove to be crucial.

During the 2017/18 season, the 22-year-old scored 12 goals for RB Leipzig, and if he can rediscover that form, then he could score the extra goals that Leeds need.
