With Rafael van der Vaart celebrating his 37th birthday, many Spurs fans recalled the magnificent Dutchman’s time at the club. When he was with Tottenham, Van der Vaart scored 24 Premier League goals in 63 appearances. He also managed to record 16 assists in these games, as well.
Many fan accounts took to Twitter to wish the player the happiest of birthdays. During this time, supporters explained just how good of a player he was for the side. One fan reckons he is in his top three of all-time Spurs players, while a few others think he left the club much too early.

Did Van der Vaart leave the club too early?
Yes
No
A couple of fans wish he had a better team around him when he was playing for Tottenham. Another insists that it would be great if Daniel Levy could miraculously make another signing like Van der Vaart in the future.
Sad that so many of those goals are ’VDV with the equalizer ’ or ’turns it around’…. He was amazing, probably deserved a better team around him and a few #COYS

What do we think?
It is clear that the fans loved having the Dutchman on their team after Harry Redknapp brought him in, with Andre Villas-Boas selling him also being a talking point. However, with the recent arrival of Steven Bergwijn, they could soon have a new favourite Dutchman to cheer for.
