Gedson Fernandes has only been at Tottenham for a short time since joining Jose Mourinho’s side from Benfica on loan. The player is set to spend at least another full season with the club, seeing the loan end in June, 2021. He has already made four appearances for Spurs, but only racked up 117 minutes of game time under his new boss.
Do you think Fernandes will be a success at Spurs?
Yes
No
After featuring against Southampton in the FA Cup replay on Wednesday night, and receiving a rating of 7/10 (Football.london), one Spurs fan asked his peers what they thought about the new signing so far. Their responses indicate that they see a lot of promise from his performances. They do admit that, while he has had a slow start, he is growing on them.

Obvious skill. Needs development.
I’m excited for him to get it from this coach and midfield.

Basically Sissoko but instead of more physicality he has more technical ability

What do we think?
Spurs fans shouldn’t expect too much from the player in terms of goals or assists. In 117 professional appearances, Fernandes, who is valued at £13.5 million (as per Transfermarkt), has only scored nine times and assisted 15. Hopefully, they will begin to see exactly what else he can bring to the table going forward.
