Spurs fans were delighted to hear that Norwich’s Max Aarons is the North London club’s top target in the summer transfer window.

According to Football Insider, the groundwork has already been laid on signing the 20-year-old right-back, as Spurs look to strengthen their defence. The report suggests that Spurs have held extensive negotiations with the youngster, who burst onto the scene with an impressive season in the Championship with the Canaries; winning the EFL’s Young Player of the Season award for his performances.

So far this season, the England U21 international has featured 23 times in the Premier League and could be set for a move to North London in the summer, especially if Daniel Farke’s side succumb to relegation.

Spurs loaned out back-up right-back Kyle Walker-Peters to Southampton in the January transfer window and if he fails to impress, it would be no surprise to see Aarons join the club as a potential replacement in the summer.

These Spurs fans would clearly love to see their side sign Aarons in the summer transfer window.

What do we think?

Aarons has struggled in his performances in the Premier League – averaging a disappointing 6.53 match rating from WhoScored – but is still only 20 and could prosper in a stronger side such as Spurs. It will be interesting to see if Mourinho can convince him to make the move to North London at the end of the season.
