Spurs fans have been reacting to a post wishing former striker Fernando Llorente a happy birthday.
The Spanish forward, who left Spurs in the summer to join Napoli, turned 35 years old on Wednesday and was sent well-wishes by fan account Hotspur Related on Twitter. The former Swansea man was instrumental in Spurs’ run to the Champions League final last season, contributing the all-important winning goal in the quarter-final tie against Manchester City.
Overall, the veteran striker made 66 appearances for the North London club, scoring 13 goals and providing six assists after being signed by Mauricio Pochettino. Considering the injury to Harry Kane this season, perhaps Spurs should have done more to keep hold of the Spaniard – who has four goals in all competitions for Napoli so far this season.
Did Spurs make a big mistake in letting Llorente leave?

The biggest mistake Levy did was let this guy leave in the summer

Wish we still had him!

These Spurs fans clearly wish Llorente was still at the club and clearly feel that letting the striker leave on a free transfer last summer was a mistake.
What do we think?
When you consider the lack of striker options Spurs have now that Kane is out injured, it seems strange that Llorente was ever let go, but with the Spaniard now 35, it seems unlikely that he will return to the North London club.
