Spurs fans have been drooling over some footage of Tanguy Ndombele after his appearance from the bench during the 1-0 defeat to RB Leipzig in the Champions League.
The French midfielder came off the bench in the second half for Jose Mourinho’s side but was unable to help the North London club turn the game around, as they succumbed to a 1-0 defeat. However, fans have been impressed by the 23-year-old’s impact, after some of his stats from the game were posted on Twitter by The Spurs Web.
The tweet, which includes stats such as him winning 8/11 duels and 4/4 dribbles, was accompanied by a video of some of the former Lyon man’s best moments in his brief cameo. Ndombele became Spurs’ record signing when he joined in the summer, but he has struggled to establish himself as a regular under both Mauricio Pochettino and Jose Mourinho, with fitness issues clearly preventing the midfielder from playing at his best.
Has Ndombele been a flop?
Yes
No
Reaction from Spurs fans to the video of Ndombele can be seen in the tweets below.
1:23 seconds is a spitting image of what dembele did for us. Ndombele’s control of the ball and vision is of the highest quality. Just needs to get fit, we truly have 3 footballers in Ndombele, Lo celso & bergwijn that could potentially become world class.

The guy is a monster, and could be a superstar, BUT his conditioning is appalling. The question that must be answered is whether it a temporary thing, due to a bad preseason and injuries, or are their actual permanent physiological issues with him? Does anyone know?

He only played 26mins. Guy gets paid 200k a week. It’s embarrassing. Unbelievable talent but pathetic professional. No one should applaud him for being unable to get fit when everyone else can

and that’s the point…… he doesn’t seem to be able to play for longer than that. For £65M you expect more. He’s got to improve his fitness for next season to be a success in the PL

These Spurs fans seem to be in agreement that if Ndombele can ever get himself to top fitness, he will be an excellent player for them.
What do we think?
It’s poor that Ndombele is still struggling with his fitness despite having a full pre-season at the North London club, and if he doesn’t get a run of consecutive games under his belt soon, then you would have to argue that he has been a flop this season, as he has started just 15 games all year.
