Spurs fans have been reacting to a club post showing footage of Emmanuel Adebayor’s goal at Stamford Bridge from the 2012/13 season.

The tweet from the club shows Adebayor running at the Chelsea defence before deftly curling the ball into the top corner past a stranded Petr Cech in a 2-2 draw. This comes ahead of Spurs’ trip to Stamford Bridge this weekend, where a win will push Mourinho’s side into the top-four spots in the Premier League.

Spurs are still without a recognised senior striker at the club, following the injury to Harry Kane in early January, and many fans were quick to comment that they should have re-signed the Togo international; who scored 42 times in 113 appearances for the North London club. Unfortunately for those fans, Adebayor signed for Paraguayan side Olimpia Asuncion earlier this month.

Would you have taken Adebayor back at Spurs?

It seems as if a lot of Spurs fans wouldn’t have minded the club signing Adebayor back this season.

What do we think?

It was an excellent goal by Adebayor but there seems little chance of the 35-year-old returning to North London anytime soon, now that he resides in Paraguay.
