Spurs fans have been discussing Steven Bergwijn’s post-match interview following his debut goal in the 2-0 win over Manchester City on Sunday.
The Dutch international was interviewed by Sky Sports (via Hotspur Related), following the game and spoke with Jamie Carragher about his volley which opened the scoring at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium. It was the 22-year-old’s first appearance for the North London club since signing during the January transfer window and he will, of course, be delighted to have marked it with a goal.
Spurs fans are thrilled with the former PSV man’s start for the club, as he earned an impressive 7.53 rating for his performance against last year’s champions. He promised Spurs fans that they can expect a lot more from him, which has excited a lot of Lilywhites on Twitter.
Should Bergwijn start against Villa on Sunday?

Lots of Spurs fans were concerned about whether Bergwijn could understand Carragher’s accent.
Worst person they could get to interview him. Probably didn’t understand half of what Jamie was saying…

What do we think?
It was a great start for Bergwijn but unfortunately, he is unavailable for the FA Cup replay against Southampton on Wednesday night, so Spurs fans will have to wait until Sunday’s game against Aston Villa to potentially see him again.
