Spurs fans were frustrated to hear that Dele Alli is undergoing assessment on his ankle ahead of the game against Southampton in the FA Cup.

The 23-year-old took a knock in the 2-0 win against Manchester City at the weekend, after a strong tackle from his England team-mate Raheem Sterling and is a doubt for the FA Cup replay on Wednesday night.

The former MK Dons man has been in excellent form so far this season; contributing eight goals and four assists in all competitions.

Spurs signed Alli from MK Dons in 2015 and the midfielder has established himself as a regular at the North London club in the five years since; making 211 appearances and scoring an impressive 61 goals. Alli has been ever-present in Mourinho’s side throughout the winter period and many fans are hoping for him get a rest on Wednesday night.

These Spurs fans are clearly upset that Alli is injured but many suggest that he should be rested for Wednesday’s game to ensure that he is fully fit for the weekend game.

What do we think?

Alli has played a lot of games recently and was the victim of a bad tackle from Sterling at the weekend, so it may be best if he misses the game against Southampton, despite his goalscoring threat.
