Spurs fans were full of praise for Dele Alli after the midfielder came off the bench to have a huge impact in the 3-2 win over Southampton on Wednesday night.

The 23-year-old provided Lucas Moura with an assist (2:17) for the equaliser, before playing in Heung-Min Son with a beautiful pass, as shared by Hotspur Related on Twitter, which led to the winning penalty from the South Korean. The former MK Dons man has enjoyed a fruitful season for the North London club, averaging an impressive 7.05 rating for his performances in the Premier League.

Alli was introduced just after the hour-mark on Wednesday night but was one of the home side’s biggest contributors, earning an 8/10 rating from Football.london. He was perhaps being rested after taking a sore tackle from Raheem Sterling in their 2-0 win over Manchester City last weekend, but his strong performance suggests he will be back in the starting eleven against Aston Villa on Sunday week.

These Spurs fans clearly enjoyed the pass from Alli and saluted the midfielder’s game-changing performance.

What do we think?

It was a lovely pass from Alli to find Son and the £81 million-rated man looked back to his best after some recent disappointing displays. It would be a surprise to see him back on the bench for the upcoming trip to Villa Park.
