Spurs fans were shocked to see Manchester United’s Harry Maguire get away with a kick out at Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi during their 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.
Heung-Min Son was shown a red card for a similar challenge during Spurs’ game against Chelsea back in December, but the England defender was not even shown a yellow and went on to score the second for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side. This has left many fans of the North London club furious that VAR didn’t seem to show the same consistency with its decisions against Son and Maguire.
The video of Maguire’s kick on Batshuayi, which was originally posted by Sky Sports MNF on Twitter, was shared with Spurs fans via LastWordonSpurs and gathered a lot of attention from Lilywhites fans.
Whose challenge was worse?

The officiating in this league is a total shambles. Not surprised in the slightest that it was the spurs player who got penalised.

Ah yes add that to the ever growing pile of VAR and Refs against Spurs. How many now against us? 7-8?

These Spurs fans are clearly not happy with the inconsistency in decisions and feel that Maguire should have been sent off.
What do we think?
Maguire did look to kick out at Batshuayi so it was a surprise to see him not given at least a yellow card. However, Spurs fans may be grateful that he stayed on and helped the Red Devils to the three points, with Spurs now just one point off Frank Lampard’s side ahead of their trip to Stamford Bridge this weekend.
