Spurs fans were delighted to hear that Ben Davies is back in full training after recovering from an ankle injury that has kept him out since November.
The club confirmed on Twitter that the Welsh international has returned to training with the first-team squad and could make his return to action against Southampton in the FA Cup replay on Wednesday. The former Swansea man suffered an ankle injury during Jose Mourinho’s first game in charge against West Ham and hasn’t featured since.
The 26-year-old will no doubt be called upon by Mourinho, considering fellow left-back Danny Rose joined Newcastle United on loan during the January transfer window. In his absence, Ryan Sessegnon has struggled there, although Japhet Tanganga has impressed in his few appearances in an unnatural position, so Davies could well face competition from his 20-year-old teammate.
Who should start at left-back?
Ben Davies
Japhet Tanganga
Ryan Sessegnon

That is great news!
Though he’ll have a tough job getting back into the first team with the mighty Tanganga playing like a legend— days without a striker (@MattyFrench82) February 4, 2020

These Spurs fans are clearly delighted with the injury update on Davies and will be hoping to see him back in the first-team squad as soon as possible.
What do we think?
It is great news for Mourinho that Davies is back, as it gives him a natural option at left-back. It will be interesting to see who the Portuguese manager favours out of him and the in-form Tanganga.
