Some Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to voice their desire to see the club increase their spending in the upcoming transfer window, as reports emerge that the club are set to announce impressive annual revenues.

Tottenham-focused Twitter account @TalkingTHFC recently made a post regarding a recent report from Football Insider which states that Spurs are set to announce impressive annual revenues that “have rocketed beyond the £400 million mark”, which they go on to state would be a “club-record high”.

The reports of these club-record revenues have got some Spurs fans calling for the club to use these revenues to improve their squad by increasing their activity in the transfer market.

Spurs have historically been quite low spenders in the transfer market. During Mauricio Pochettino’s tenure at the club, they made a net profit in two of his five full seasons at the club. Furthermore, over the past five seasons combined, Spurs have been outspent by 14 of the other 19 teams competing in the Premier League at present.

Some Spurs fans have been growing tired of their historically low spending levels. The reports of their impressive new revenue announcements have resulted in some fans taking to Twitter to call for them to increase their activity in the transfer market. Read the reactions of some Spurs fans to these reports in the tweets below.

What do we think?

Despite stating that they are set to announce “club-record” revenues, Football Insider has also reported that “profits are not expected to reach last year’s level”. With potentially club-record revenues not translating into an increase in profits, Spurs fans may end up disappointed by their transfer activity once again in the upcoming summer transfer window.
