Some Southampton fans have reacted to the latest Twitter post of club legend Matt Le Tissier after the club’s loss to Tottenham in the FA Cup.
Southampton were knocked out of the FA Cup at the hands of Spurs on Wednesday, albeit in controversial fashion. Danny Ings’ goal had put them 2-1 up, but Lucas Moura and Heung-Min Son grabbed late goals to turn the tie around. The South Korean had won a penalty after he was fouled by Angus Gunn late in the game.
Did Southampton deserve to lose v Tottenham?
Never, we were robbed
Yes, we didn't defend well
That foul was the topic for Le Tissier’s tweet, who asked whether the contact from Gunn was enough for Son to fall over. Many Saints fans made their opinions known about it.
I just hope son has fully recovered after his terrible fall.

This is just before Son’s shorts hit the keepers glove.
Both his feet are OFF the ground. Dive. Cheat. Fact. pic.twitter.com/VmoLmBlm1R— Bobby Davies (@bobbymush) February 6, 2020
Are people actually blind ??? Song dived like he did all night. Gunn played the ball however minimal. Do you know what. I’ll admit to when my team gets a pen when they shouldnt. Stevie wonder must have been in the VAR box. Scandalous

Was that contact made before or after the player is falling over. In this case it appears to be after Son was half way to the ground. Another bad refereeing and VAR decision

He was already diving before contact also.

Son’s record against Southampton has been very good over the years. The South Korean has played 11 games against them so far, winning seven of them and losing two, drawing two, scoring six goals in all competitions against the Saints.
He had scored against Southampton in the first game of the fourth round of the FA Cup at St. Mary’s before the Saints had hit back through Sofiane Boufal.
What do we think?
Southampton fans are right to feel aggrieved by the penalty decision and are right to get behind Le Tissier in that regard.
