Spurs fans have been critiquing a video of on-loan Newcastle United defender Danny Rose after his initiation song was posted on Twitter.

The video shows the 29-year-old defender standing on a chair preparing to sing his initiation song, before giving up and earning a chorus of boos from his new team-mates. It was originally posted on Twitter by Match of the Day, having been filmed by Allan Saint-Maximin via Instagram, before being shared with Spurs fans via LastWordonSpurs.

The left-back joined Steve Bruce’s side on loan during the January transfer window but has not enjoyed the best of starts with the Magpies. It seems as if his singing performances have been matched by his performances on the pitch, with the England international earning a 6.13 rating in the 4-0 loss at Arsenal, before receiving a 5.95 rating for his display in the 1-0 defeat against Crystal Palace at the weekend.

These Spurs supporters clearly aren’t the biggest Danny Rose fans and perhaps enjoyed seeing him struggle in the initiation video.

What do we think?

Rose has not enjoyed the best of starts with Newcastle and will perhaps have to do a lot more both on and off the pitch if he is going to win over Toon fans.
