Some Southampton fans have been left delighted by the latest news involving the club’s manager Ralph Hasenhuttl.
The Sun journalist Tom Barclay recently posted an update on Twitter about Southampton. He said that the Saints are in talks to hand Hasenhuttl a new deal, but formal talks will start when the season ends. He went on to say that the Austrian is keen to stay at the club and sign a three-year deal at St. Mary’s.
Does Hasenhuttl deserve a new Southampton contract?
The man deserves it
We need to wait
Saints-related Twitter account Southampton Page relayed this update. It got many Saints talking and they’re very happy about it.

Get him signed and then open the coffers and let him have some serious money to strengthen the squad

Sign him now and show him we believe in him. We have the easiest schedule remaining in the EPL, and are in good form.

Hasenhuttl joined the club as the manager in late 2018, after Mark Hughes was axed by the club after just eight months in charge of the South Coast-based outfit.
Before managing the Saints, Hasenhuttl had been in charge of RB Leipzig and he had also managed German clubs Aalen and Ingolstadt.
What do we think?
The Saints are currently 12th in the Premier League table, but Hasenhuttl has seen the club win six of their last 10 games in the fight for relegation survival.
Since losing 9-0 to Leicester City, Southampton have recovered to win eight Premier League games. The manner in which they’ve recovered is worth some praise and Hasenhuttl, for that, may well deserve a new contract.
