This week, BBC Sheffield’s Andy Gidding confirmed Oliver Norwood’s intentions to stay at Sheffield United in a recent tweet.
According to Gidding, Norwood is quoted as saying: “Why would I want to leave?”
“I’d finish my career here,” the player added.
The player’s contract isn’t set to expire until the summer of 2021. However, many fans responded to Gidding’s tweet with excitement, suggesting that they are anxious for the player to commit his future to the side.

Will Oliver Norwood retire at Sheffield United?
No
Yes
One supporter even claims that Norwood gave up on his international career to be a Blade. He has been capped Northern Ireland over 50 times, with his last cap coming against Bosnia in October 2018.
Don’t doubt this man’s commitment, gave up his international career for the blades. #baller #ping #utb #twitterblades pic.twitter.com/WU5VojAgTf

What do we think?
Norwood has played a significant role for Chris Wilder this season. The midfielder has played in 28 matches for the Blades this season, though he has only notched himself three goals.
Of the 26 league games he has played for the side, he has worn the captain’s armband 21 times. This shows how much faith Wilder has in him.
