Newcastle: Fans react to takeover update

A lot of Newcastle United fans have reacted to Pete Graves’ takeover update tweet.

The Sky Sports presenter insists that interest in buying the Toon is ‘very real’ and ‘talks have taken place’.

Graves also says that Mike Ashley ‘is open to the right offer’.

However, the Sky Sports man does not know what stage the deal is at.

This has gathered a few replies from these Newcastle fans who don’t think a takeover will happen and don’t feel that this update has helped the situation.

I can't confirm: where the deal is at this precise moment.
I haven't had an update in a good few days.

Need to cut all this takeover talk nobody knows anything that’s the truth. It’s embarrassing now. People are sick of journalists going on about it. The top press guys are saying nothing is happening.

What do we think?

Since the Wall Street Journal broke this new takeover story, everything has gone rather quiet, and while this update from Graves keeps people in the loop, it does not provide any further information.

The best thing for Newcastle fans to do is just to focus on the rest of the season and let off-field matters run their course.
