A lot of Newcastle United fans have responded to a post from Mark Douglas about the Toon’s injury crisis.
The Chronicle reporter states that for the match against Arsenal, Newcastle will have only one fit striker for the seventh game running.
Are you surprised by this?
Yes, thought at least someone else would be fit
No, poor organistation as usual
This is because Andy Carroll is still out with a hip injury, and both Dwight Gayle and Yoshinori Muto are doubts for the clash with the Gunners.
Joelinton is, therefore, the only striker who Steve Bruce knows he has available, and this has shocked Douglas.
However, many Toon fans are not surprised by this because their team are always underprepared.

Does this surprise you Mark? We have done it time and time again. Constantly taking unnecessary risks. The window should been about options not whether they better or not #NUFC

It’s not remarkable it is typical Newcastle! Let a transfer window go by without strengthening in the striker department must be in top ten of stupid things for Mike Ashley to oversee !

Remarkable wasn’t the word I had in mind.

You say remarkable, I’d say predictable. Wasn’t a main reason we didn’t buy in January because we apparently had all of these players returning to fitness imminently?

Other Newcastle supporters, though, are more shocked by this update.
Total incompetence at the managerial level. Simply no excuses, not good enough.

Disgraceful would be the word I’d use Mark!

Never mind remarkable it’s absolutely ridiculous

What do we think?
It was thought that Muto would be available for the trip to the Emirates, but Bruce confirmed in his press conference that he is a doubt.
So, the Toon could start with Joelinton upfront. The 23-year-old has only managed one Premier League goal this season, and that came against Tottenham Hotspur.
Bruce will, therefore, be hoping that he can get his second against Spurs’ rivals on Sunday.
