A lot of Newcastle United fans are talking about the future of Andy Carroll after former Toon striker Mick Quinn suggested that the 31-year-old should leave the club in the summer.
Quinn speaking in the Evening Chronicle said that “if Andy Carroll’s not going to be fit, then there is no point in having him here.”
Do you agree with Quinn on Carroll?
Yes, waste of a space
No, worth keeping
At the moment, Quinn believes that the former West Ham is “no good to anyone,” and the Toon can’t afford to keep a player “if they’re not going to contribute.”
However, the former Toon star did leave the door open for Carroll to remain at Newcastle.
Quinn believes that if the former England international can prove his fitness and string together a couple of games, then he is worth keeping because he is a “handful.”
These Newcastle fans, though, feel that Carroll should be released at the end of the season.

Time to hang up the Boots Andy

Not even sure the point of the question. We are a football team, not a social club. Waste of a squad place

Takes up squad place, should of been let go in January. In the real world if you were unavailable to work you wouldn’t trouser £20k a week, you’d be out if the door and your employer would hire someone more reliable to fill the roll ???

It’s madness that some fans want him to be given another year at the club!!

Get rid, there’s no room for sentimentality.

What do we think?
Carroll has managed to make 14 appearances for Newcastle this season, and he has provided three assists in the Premier League.
The Toon have also won six matches that Carroll has featured in.
However, he has not played since the Magpies beat Rochdale in an FA Cup third round replay due to a hip injury that has worried Steve Bruce.
If he can’t overcome this, then it might be best to let Carroll leave in the summer.
