Liverpool fans have been reacting on Twitter to the latest comments made by Philippe Coutinho about the club.
This comes after Liverpool journalist @DaveOCKOP shared a post on his official page relaying quotes made by the Brazilian to Sports Illustrated via Goal.
Speaking about his former side, Coutinho said that Liverpool are current “flying” before adding how happy he is for the team.
Do Liverpool need Coutinho back in the squad?
Yes, he would be useful
No, he had his chance
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Liverpool fans who were quick to share their thoughts on this latest update from their former man.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans responding to Coutinho’s latest comments:
Philippe Coutinho: “Liverpool is flying, and it doesn’t surprise me. They won the Champions League. I’m also not surprised because of their fantastic squad and manager. I am so happy for them, because I have so many friends there, former team-mates.” https://t.co/WUQWCS7KVl

The 27-year-old, who is currently valued at £63 million according to Transfermarkt, left the Reds back in January 2018 for a big-money move to Barcelona for a fee of £130.5 million. Now currently playing for Bayern Munich on a season-long loan deal away from the La Liga giants, Coutinho has managed to score seven goals and provide eight assists in 27 appearances for the German club. Now that quotes have surfaced of the Brazilian stating his admiration for Liverpool, some Reds fans saw this as an opportunity to criticise the player for leaving the club in the first place.

What do we think?
Based off these replies, it appears that Liverpool fans are still not over Coutinho leaving the club over two years ago. Even though he is congratulating the club for their recent successes, these fans just can’t seem to take the compliment without slating the 27-year-old.
