Liverpool fans have been responding on Twitter to the latest post from midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum.
This comes after the Dutchman shared a post on his official Twitter page after the Reds’ 1-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
The midfielder claimed that the team will “learn from this match and be ready for the next”.
Will Liverpool beat Atletico at Anfield?
Yes
No
Wijnaldum’s post then gathered a lot of replies from Liverpool fans who were quick to respond to his post.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans reacting to Wijnaldum’s message:
Obviously not the night we wanted. We still have the chance to make it right at Anfield. Learn from this match and be ready for the next ?? Big thanks to all our fans here tonight ?? #YNWA #UCL pic.twitter.com/74sTxn1Nob

Nothing you can do when it’s 12 against 11, Gini.

The 29-year-old played the full 90 minutes in Madrid, earning himself a match rating of 6.4, according to WhoScored. Now that the midfielder has shared a message via Twitter expressing his disappointment with the result, many Liverpool fans have been rallying round Wijnaldum with their focus on winning the second-leg clash at Anfield. Meanwhile, some fans did not react as positively to the Reds’ setback in the Spanish capital.
Head up boss. Focus on the league and get ready to clatter into the spanish Burnley at Anfield lad

What do we think?
It’s great to see so many Liverpool fans getting behind Wijnaldum with their confidence and belief that they can get a result against Atletico at Anfield. Last season saw Jurgen Klopp’s side beat Barcelona by a scoreline of 4-0 after succumbing to a 3-0 defeat at the Camp Nou to progress to the final. With this in mind, it comes as no surprise that lots of Liverpool fans are confident of another second-leg turnaround.
