Timo Werner’s future is in Jurgen Klopp’s hands – according to Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol. The report claims that the German will become a Liverpool player if the club decide to activate his release clause of £50m and persuade him that he will play regularly.
Werner has recently described the Anfield giants as the best club in the world and has made no secret of the fact he believes Jurgen Klopp is the best coach in the game at present (as per Sky Sports).
Would Timo Werner start in this current Liverpool side?
Yes
No
With Werner in incredible form this season, these Liverpool fans are adamant that Jurgen Klopp should bring his compatriot to Anfield.
£50m is more than a fair price

That’s peanuts for a World Class player. Weirdly klopp’s only signed one German born player…… Sir Joel Matip

Drop Firmino to play behind the front 3 with Werner playing through the middle. Firmino tends to drift deep quite a lot and he creates so much for the others he could be superb in that role

What do we think?
In our view, it shouldn’t be seen as a negative that Timo Werner is keen to play football regularly. He has made 23 Bundesliga appearances this season in which he has scored 21 goals and provided seven assists (via Transfermarkt.co.uk). Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino have scored 44 goals between them this season (via BBC Sport) and therefore we believe anybody coming to Anfield will have his work cut out trying to dislodge any one of those three.
