Liverpool fans on Twitter have been reacting to a proposed Reds starting XI without midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum in it.
This comes after Liverpool fan Twitter account @empireofthekop shared a post on their page of a suggested hypothetical Liverpool first XI lineup that included RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner, as the striker recently mentioned a potential move to Anfield.
However, some Reds fans took offence to the fact that Wijnaldum was not in this lineup.
Do you want Wijnaldum to sign a new contract at Liverpool?
Yes
No
This then led to a number of Liverpool fans replying to the post with their shock at the Dutchman’s omission.

The 29-year-old, who is currently valued at £45 million according to Transfermarkt, has made 34 appearances for Jurgen Klopp so far this season in all competitions. Wijnaldum’s current contract at Anfield is due to run out at the end of June next year (per Transfermarkt). Now that this Liverpool page has suggested next year’s lineup may not see the Dutchman in the side, some Liverpool fans have been discussing the midfielder on Twitter.
Hard to leave out Gini, I’d say use him in rotation. Especially with AFCON coming up.

What do we think?
Whether Werner will be in next season’s Liverpool squad is still unknown, but the fact some Reds fans have picked up on Wijnaldum’s absence shows that he is an important player for the club that the fans would miss him if he were to leave.
