Liverpool fans have been reacting on Twitter to the latest injury update regarding Atletico Madrid’s Alvaro Morata.

This comes after Liverpool Twitter account @LFCTransferRoom shared a post on their page relaying the news originally reported by Antonio Ruiz via Cope that Morata will be out for two weeks after picking up an injury.

This could mean that the Spaniard will miss Atletico’s Champions League clash with Liverpool on February 18th.

Will Alvaro Morata's injury be an advantage to Liverpool?

Yes

Yes

No, wouldn't make a difference

The post then gathered a number of replies from Liverpool fans who were eager to let their feelings known on the striker’s latest injury.

Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans reacting to the post:

The former Chelsea man joined the Spanish club on an 18-month loan deal back in January last year. At the end of this season, Morata will become a permanent player for Diego Simeone’s side (per Transfermarkt). During his time in Madrid, Morata has made 43 appearances for the club, scoring 16 goals and assisting three.

Now that it has been revealed that Morata could be in danger of missing Atletico’s upcoming showdown with Liverpool, some Reds fans don’t see this latest update as an issue for their opponents.

What do we think?

Perhaps these Liverpool fans are still thinking of Morata as a Chelsea player who could only score 24 goals in 72 appearances during his period at Stamford Bridge (per Transfermarkt), as his record this season suggests he could be a threat to the Reds’ defence, having produced 10 already.

Whether he will miss the game or not is still unknown, but to rule out his ability to perform before the match could be a mistake.
