Jurgen Klopp is prepared to re-sign former Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho – according to a report in the Daily Express. It is claimed that Kai Havertz of Bayer Leverkusen is the German’s number-one target, but should he fail to land the 20-year-old, he would look to bring back Coutinho in a shock move.
Coutinho left Anfield for Barcelona in a deal worth a staggering £130.5m (via Transfermarkt.co.uk) back in January 2018, but the Brazilian has been out on loan this season and is currently playing his football for Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.
Would re-signing Coutinho be a smart piece of business?
Yes
No
Barcelona are looking to offload the playmaker in order to fund a deal for either Neymar or Inter’s Lautaro Martinez in the summer and would be willing to let Coutinho leave for a cut-price fee, claim the Express.
However, the news of a possible return for the former Inter star hasn’t gone down well with all of the club’s supporters, with some certain it would be a mistake.
BIG mistake if this happens, for many reasons.?

What do we think?
Whether or not re-signing Coutinho would be a good move could depend on the fee Barcelona would be willing to sell him for. Liverpool fans know better than anybody else how good he can be when firing on all cylinders, but Jurgen Klopp’s side have progressed since then and he could, therefore, find himself playing a bit-part role – so the question is whether his role would warrant the transfer fee?
