Fans of Liverpool have been reacting to the club’s post on Twitter, in which the Merseyside team posted a highlights clip of Paul Glatzel’s goals for the club, along with wishing him a happy 19th birthday.
Glatzel, who is an academy product of the club, has appeared 21 times for Liverpool in the U18 Premier League, scoring 13 goals and providing two assists.
However, he is yet to feature this season, having ruptured his cruciate ligament during last summer. According to Transfermarkt, the 19-year-old is expected to return by the end of the month.
Despite his lack of appearances, Liverpool fans remain positive about the youngster’s future at the club, with many taking to social media to praise the forward.

It’s a real shame he’s been injured recently as he would’ve got a lot of gametime for the first time

What do we think?
The timing of Glatzel’s injury has been unfortunate for his development, as with the Liverpool first team suffering from fixture congestion, Jurgen Klopp has often opted to field his youth players, such as in the FA Cup victory over Everton, the League Cup defeat against Aston Villa and most recently in the FA Cup victory over Shrewsbury.
