Liverpool fans have been responding on Twitter to recent footage of former Reds goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.

This comes after Liverpool journalist James Pearce shared a post on his official page quote-tweeting a post originally shared by @btsportfootball that contained footage of Emmanuel Dennis’ goal against Manchester United in their 1-1 Europa League draw with Club Brugge.

Pearce pointed out that it was Mignolet’s long pass upfield that set the striker away to score for the Belgian side.

Would Mignolet be a good understudy for Alisson?

Yes, he's good enough

No, don't want him again

This post then gathered a lot of replies from Liverpool fans who were eager to have their say on the matter.

Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans responding to Pearce’s post:

The Belgian shot-stopper left Anfield in the summer transfer window to join the Belgian club for a fee of £6.3 million after spending six years at Liverpool (per Transfermarkt). Now that Pearce has pointed out that Mignolet assisted his side’s goal against United on Thursday, this has paved the way for many Liverpool fans to react to this news on their former man.

What do we think?

It comes as no surprise that a former Liverpool player grabbing an assist against United has caught the attention of a lot of Reds fans. Meanwhile, it’s good to see Mignolet doing well for his new team.
