Some Celtic fans have been discussing Jeremie Frimpong and whether he is capable of playing on the European stage.
Frimpong had started at right-back in the Hoops’ 4-3-3 shape on Thursday against Copenhagen in the first leg of their Europa League tie. The game saw Neil Lennon’s men get held to a 1-1 draw, but Odsonne Edouard got a vital away goal for the club to take into the second leg in Glasgow next week.
Who should start in European games: Elhamed or Frimpong?
Frimpong will come good soon
Elhamed is much better
After the game, CelticGossip posted about how Frimpong isn’t up to European level yet – and it got many Hoops fans talking.
Hes still young yet, needs to put on some muscle. He’ll get there though

Ridiculous comment. Literally his first ever game in Europe thought this page was better than this?!

Spot on, Elhamed twice the player

The game against Copenhagen on Thursday saw Frimpong win three aerial duels and complete just as many dribbles for the Hoops. He also played one key pass and got a Whoscored rating of just 6.6.
What do we think?
The game was Frimpong’s senior European debut. Meanwhile, this was his first game since his return from injury as he was only on the bench against Aberdeen at the weekend in the Hoops’ 2-1 win.
That suggests the youngster may take time to get back into the routine of playing regularly. And with time, he will learn what it takes to play European football too. It is time for patience.
