Liverpool were beaten at the Wanda Metropolitano on Tuesday night by a stubborn and well-drilled Atletico Madrid side. The Spaniards took the lead early on and despite Jurgen Klopp’s side dominating the possession, they were unable to find a reply.
Diego Simeone’s side will travel to Merseyside for the second leg with a one-goal advantage as they look to eliminate the holders and 2018 finalists from the Champions League.
Will Liverpool progress to the quarter finals of this season's Champions League?
Yes
No
Reds defender Andrew Robertson has been on social media voicing his frustration at the fact his side were unable to achieve a more positive result but was quick to suggest Liverpool can be confident of turning things around at Anfield in a few weeks’ time.
These fans had nothing but words of encouragement for the 25-year-old and his teammates.
Don’t worry boys the attitude is never give up and we don’t without a fight YNWA

Only half time in the tie, Andy. And 1-0 isn’t the worst score line in the world. Full faith in you lads to put things right at Anfield in 3 weeks time ??

What do we think?
There is still much to play for between these two sides and in our view, it would be foolish to write off Liverpool. They’ve proven in the past that anything is possible in front of their home fans, with the incredible comeback versus Barcelona last season being the most recent example.
