Fans of Crystal Palace have been reacting to Wilfried Zaha’s post on Twitter, in which the 27-year-old looks forward to Saturday’s derby against Brighton.
Zaha has appeared 27 times for Palace in the league this season, scoring three goals and providing three assists.
However, the Ivory Coast international has been on something of a goal drought recently, having not found the back of the net in the league since December. Coincidentally, that goal came against this Saturday’s opponents – Crystal Palace’s rivals, Brighton.
In anticipation of ‘El Gatwicko’, Zaha posted a picture on Twitter, with the caption: “All smiles in training. Looking forward to the weekend.”
In reaction, Palace fans took to Twitter, with many stating their desire for the Eagles to inflict some ‘payback’ on their rivals on the south coast.

One of the only players that understands what it means to win or lose to Brighton on our level.

What do we think?
There is a very clear trend between Zaha playing well and Crystal Palace winning games.
Over their first 10 games of the season, Palace won four games, including a victory at Old Trafford; drew three – against Everton, Wolves and Arsenal; and lost three, while Zaha averaged an impressive 6.99 WhoScored match rating over the same amount of matches.
However, in Palace’s last five fixtures, in which they have won once, drawn once and lost three times, Zaha has averaged a less-than-impressive 6.72 WhoScored match rating.
As such, Palace fans will be hoping for the Zaha of 2019 to turn up, if they are to have any hope of beating Brighton.
