It was a massive win for Crystal Palace on Saturday, with the Eagles registering their first victory of 2020. The side managed to win the game 1-0 after Patrick van Aanholt scored a sumptuous free-kick on the stroke of half time.
The win ends the side’s eight-game winless streak. Palace will hope to carry this momentum into their next game against Brighton.
But while it was their Dutch left-back’s free-kick that won them the game, these Palace fans also praised the efforts of Cenk Tosun. The Turkish player came on in the 89th minute of the game, and didn’t waste time making an impact.
The player tracked back brilliantly well to slide in and win the ball off Sean Longstaff before watching his side counter up the field in search of a second goal. The move resulted in Newcastle’s Valentino Lazaro being sent off for a challenge on Wilfried Zaha.
When Crystal Palace posted footage of the moment of Twitter, fans praised the player’s stellar challenge.

Do you think Cenk Tosun should start the next match?
Yes
No
Others questioned why Roy Hodgson only brought Tosun on as the game was coming to a close. They want to see him given more time on the pitch.
we waited since two weeks but he played last minute

Why did we wait until the 89th minute to play Tosun?

What do we think?
It is never easy for a player to make an impact coming on so late in the game. But with Tosun being able to do so, perhaps it will inspire Hodgson to include him earlier in the match against Brighton? Who knows, maybe he will even get the nod to start?
