Aston Villa fans have been calling for the club to make a move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama.
This comes after Villa news Twitter account @AVFC_News shared a post on their page asking their followers if they would take Wanyama to Villa Park on a free transfer.
Would Victor Wanyama improve this Villa side?
Yes
No
The post also included an article from the Birmingham Mail who cite football journalist Nabil Djellit’s claims that Tottenham could terminate Wanyama’s contract at the club.
This post then led to a lot of Villa fans replying with their thoughts on a potential move for the midfielder.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans wanting to see Wanyama join the Birmingham club:
If he’s fit (match fitness is not what I mean by that) 1000% we are missing that nasty able breakup play and keep it simple player. He would fit the bill nicely especially for free, for 6 months then option for x years if we stay up.

Get him in

As a free agent he would be a steal

The midfielder, who is currently valued at £10.8 million according to Transfermarkt, has only made four appearances for the North London club in all competitions so far this season (per Transfermarkt). Now that news has emerged that Wanyama’s contract at the club could be terminated, this has opened the door for these Villa fans to discuss a potential move for the midfielder.
Yes he’s a brick wall we need a few brick walls

100% get him in, with a full pre season, he’d be a class signing

I would pay 8 mill if he still has it in him, absolute baller when he’s on it.

What do we think?
With Wanyama’s Premier League record of appearing in 154 games in his career, the 28-year-old could provide Villa with a lot of experience that could be very useful for Dean Smith’s side.
