Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to respond to comments made by former Villan Gabriel Agbonlahor.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @Total_Villa that included a video originally posted by @talkSPORT of a video clip of the Englishman speaking about his time at Villa under former manager Paul Lambert.
The former Villa striker revealed how sorry he felt for Lambert after the Villa board told him to sell the Villa players that were on the highest wages.
Did Paul Lambert do a good job at Villa?
Yes
No
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Villa fans who were eager to share their thoughts on Agbonlahor’s revelation.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans responding to the post:
What ever your opinions are on Gabby Agbonlahor, this video is definitely worth a watch! ?
The level of mismanagement Aston Villa has been subjected to in recent years as both a club and supporter base is absolutely disgraceful! ? #avfc pic.twitter.com/xmZZtxfZ3M

This shows the job that still needs to be done. Luckily we’ve got owners not only with the money but with the expertise to do it. A total top to bottom restructuring of the club that’ll make us stronger in the long term. Time is the key, it won’t happen overnight.

Still can’t believe Lambert kept us up. Towards the end of one season we were playing with Bowery, Baker, Sylla and Bennett.

Shows how stupid lerner was. I understand MON brought players like Habib Beye, but we were so close to going into that top four and Lerner would have made money back. Sadly that decision just started the entire downward spiral of the club

Lambert currently manages Ipswich Town in League One yet Villa remains the club he spent the longest at in his career (per Transfermarkt). Agbonlahor made 391 appearances for the Birmingham club, scoring 86 goals and providing 57 assists (per Transfermarkt). Now that Agbonlahor has appeared on the radio revealing his thoughts and feelings during the club’s time with Lambert as the manager, many Villa fans have followed suit by sharing their opinions on the subject.
This was down to Randy pulling the plug it’s taken years to get back in the premiership and need to survive to push on, he took us to the brink of bankruptcy, in hindsight should never sacked Tim Sherwood as we went downhill very quickly under RG good insight from GA UTV

I agree with this but only to a certain extent. Lerner could of easily got people in to change tact and create a new project. There are clubs in the UK and further a field who always scout well, stay afloat and even progress on tiny budgets after selling their players.

What do we think?
It’s interesting to see Agbonlahor share what was happening in the background at the club during that time which some fans may not have known about.
