These West Brom fans have been discussing if Sheffield United’s David McGoldrick would be a good move for the Baggies to make.
According to a report by Football Insider: “West Brom are keen to beat Leeds United to the signing of Sheffield United striker David McGoldrick this month.” This news was then later relayed to these West Brom fans via WBA Latest.
McGoldrick’s highest known transfer fee came in July 2009, when the 32-year-old left Southampton to join Nottingham Forest for £1.69m. However, his fee for his move away from Forest to Ipswich is unknown by Transfermarkt.
The Ireland international later left Ipswich on a free transfer to join his current club Sheffield United in July 2018, where he has played 18 matches in the Premier League this season.
Here’s what the West Brom fans had to say about the David McGoldrick transfer rumours:

I sincerely hope not! Another ageing striker will end up like most (not all!) of the rest we’ve signed over the years! Short term fix, probably doomed to failure!

This will be made up, Wilder won’t want to let go of both Sharp and McGoldrick.

This isn’t happening, he’s loved way too much by the Blades fans and by Chris Wilder.

Would you like to see David McGoldrick join West Brom?
Yes
No
So far this season, McGoldrick is yet to score in the 18 Premier League matches he’s featured in, with just two assists being all he has provided in the league in terms of goal contribution.
These fans either don’t believe the deal could happen or don’t want the deal to happen; you can hardly blame them considering the lack of goals the 32-year-old has had in the Premier League this season.
Too old. Doesn’t fit in with what the club have said on future signings.

32 ? Stupid.

What Do We Think?
With McGoldrick being 32-years-old, it could be difficult to see him get better with age with some of the fans above clearly thinking he is too old to make a difference. With the Irishman failing to score in 18 Premier League appearances, it’s hardly the most appealing of records for the West Brom fans. It seems many will not be too happy to see him playing his football at The Hawthorns from January onwards.
